Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT)

GMAT is a standardized assessment delivered in English that helps business schools assess the qualification of applicants for advanced study in business and management. Schools use the test as one predictor of academic performance in MBA program or in other graduate management programmes. It is multiple – choice test for applicants to business schools. This is mandatory for students who want to pursue a Master degree in Business Administration in reputed B-Schools all over the world. The test is administered by Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC).

The GMAT is Computer Adaptive Test (CAT). It Consists of Three Main Parts. The Total Composite Score is Out of 800.

The Analytic Writing Assessment includes the task to articulate complex ideas, examine claims and accompanying evidence and to support ideas with relevant reasons and examples.

The Verbal Section includes three types of multi-choice questions that are Reading Comprehension, Critical Reasoning and Sentence Correction.

The Quantitative Section includes two types of multiple-choice questions that are Problem Solving and Data Sufficiency.

The GMAT from June 5th 2012 onwards will introduce Integrated Reasoning, a new section designed to measure the ability to evaluate information presented in multiple formats from multiple sources – skills that are already in use, and skills that are needed to succeed in our data-rich world. The exam will remain 3 hours, 30 minutes (four hours with breaks). The Analytical Writing Assessment will be streamlined from two 30-minute essays to one Analysis of an Argument essay. Immediately after the essay question, the Integrated Reasoning section will start. Test takers will have optional breaks before and after the Quantitative sections:
